The name Soul Remedy obviously rings a bell for a lot of Belgian dubheads. Selector Dread Pressure spreaded a new dub sound during the nineties, setting a standard to the current generation of dubbers with his mixtapes “Roots & Culture” and “Truths & Rights”.
I meet the two brothers somewhere in Leuven at a hot summer’s day. I don’t get a lot of time to gaze at the long lines of rare vinyl stacked up against the wall; we settle down immediately for some serious reasoning about reggae music, soundsystems and “rasta business".

August, 2009. Andreas Peeters started to work on a graphical documentary on the Belgian reggae sound systems and asked us if we could publish this on IYB. Since we are not updated ourselves on who the key players are in this scene, we thought this was a cool initiative and were happy to publish this.
The following weeks we'll give you a series of interviews Andreas made with some of the Belgian starters of this interesting scene.
First up: High'r Ites!

The computer virus with the same name may be forgotten but a certain Boris Daenen from Belgium will definitely cause some damage of equal proportions on the drumandbass scene. Meet Netsky and beware for his musical ability to keep you hooked with infectious melodies and driving basslines. I would even dare to say that he may as well be the third of the Brookes Brothers, if you didn’t know he’s originally from Antwerp. In a relatively short time he managed to get his tunes released by reputed UK labels like Liq-Weed Ganja and Allsorts and get into High Contrast’s and Dj Hype’s tracklists. He’s also got a load of forthcoming material on Hospital, SGN:LTD, Liq-weed Ganja, Spearhead and Allsorts and was commissioned a remix for Miike Snow which is due to be released on Sony/EMI. At only 20 years old, it’s the kind of resume that many people dream of and IYB thought it was about time to ask him some questions.
