InYourBassTV presents Joe Nice

Noodles from DPR Records Interview

code314 : Hey Noodles, according to your  biography on  your website, you're in the musicscape since more than 20 years...  could you shortly describe to our readers the musical trip youve been inducted in ? What has been done until/to the actual major dubstep underground move ?

Noodles : I’ve been involved in all genres of music from early rave, acid house, hardcore, jungle, d’n’b, progressive house, techno, trance, tec house, garage, house, ukg 2step. Like anything new it all comes with change, dubstep is off the back of 2step it’s just another genre

e3 : What's the most recent big thing for you ?

N : Groovechronicles,M2j , price, daega, spuek, steppo, p-vans, dubchild these artist on the label have some really good music, you’ll be seeing and hearing a lot from these producers mentioned.

e3 : Do you got some ideas about the future of dubstep ? Some people in the berlin-oriented / minimal electro seriously say that dubstep is gonna suddenly disapear, or  simply die... Possible ? So, dubstep, fashionable or long term evolution ?

N : I think it’s up to the people who make it, to keep creative and fresh in what they do.

e3 : Your describe years behind you like a long "journey that will never envd as long as people want to hear good music."  Well this is precisely the reason behind this  interview. We were recently hit by promo stuffss from DPR records, the label you manage in london. M2J's PAcman's revenge looks like a solid dubstep "8bit" tune. Could you tell us more about those next releases ? who, what, why, when ?

N : M2j pacmans revenge/ raven/ 2001 is available to buy now from http://dpr.ithinkmusic.com has some great music coming I’ve a lot of faith in him, price is another good producer with some really interesting idea’s which kind of fits the mould of DPR, Daega yet again fresh music which they take live to the stage which is amazing, steppo and p-vans just add the touches to the whole DPR schedule which is good creative music, and dubchild whose already got some hot tunes out already adds more flavour. And lastly groovechronicles the foundation of dpr  there releases will be good.

e3 : As dubstep label manager / promotor and record producer (even records seller in some shops i think), would you say the "market" has got some specific skills ?

N : You just have to know what the people want, and be confident what you are selling…

e3 : And what about the nowadays changes : lot of dubstep dj's making their set with cdr including 320 kbps tune directly received from producers, trying to make their dj-set as personnal as possible. This must have solid consequences for labels ? in the mean time, a website like boomkat selling vinyls looks healthy ?

N : Yeah people have been doing that for time (dubplates) of course every dj wants bullets, but that does’nt help the producer of that tune really, when he is not being paid for his efforts, that’s mostly the case for people who are starting out in the music scene and don’t have any label connections, vinyl is doing what is doing is all about quality of music if it’s good it will sell.

e3 : and what changes for the distribution ? what about mp3 selling ?

N : two different markets vinyl distributor are now doing it, so all in all it working hand in hand…

e3 : thansk a lot Noodles ! We warmly recommend to InYourBass'nauts about checking your myspace :  http://www.myspace.com/dprrecordings

N : I would like to big up code 314 for this interview and also bella, groovechronicles, m2j, price, daega, spuek, p-vans, steppo, dubchild. Buy dpr mp3’s @ http://dpr.ithinkmusic.com Peace Noodles dpr.
